In December 2016 Neo undertook the unenviable task of making 1658 Christmas hampers to deliver to struggling families and individuals Wirral wide, we had fantastic support from many organisations such as:

Tesco's and their customers - Tesco organised a toy drive which resulted in their customers donating 900 toys

Department for Work and Pensions - Whose staff kindly gave up their time to wrap the donated toys

Tranmere Rovers - Who donated a large amount of daily essentials such as food, toiletries and gifts.

Wirral Labour Grooup - Ran an amazing campaign to collect food, toys and toiletries, their councillors also gave up their time to help pack hampers.

Leasowe Community Homes & Leasowe Development Trust - Donated food and time to help pack hampers

Wallasey Lions Club - Donated £300 to the hamper appeal

Cliftons Bathrooms, the Hive, Hitch Marketing, Autism UK - Carried out individual hamper drives within their offices.

Birkenhead Labour Constituency - Provided Neo with a donation of £1500 to help with the hamper drive

Also the fantastic Neo followers who donated gifts and helped in so many ways.

Not forgetting the fantastic Neo volunteer teem who gave up their daytimes and evenings to pack hampers and deliver them all across Wirral.

We were overwhelmed with the response we received from so many organisations and were truly humbled by the generosity shown.

Neo were both delighted and honoured to host Rt Hon Jeremy Corbyn MP at Beconsfield.

Following on from the article in the Guardian Mr Corbyn visited Neo after the Labour leader conference in Liverpool to talk about the work that we do in the local community, My Corbyn also spent some time with some of the local residents making home made pizza which he kindly shared with his colleague, Rt Hon Frank Field MP.

Following this visit Neo hope that we can continue the war on food wastage and poverty at a parliamentary level, and with the backing of the Birkenead Labour team continue to fight austerity in Birkenhead.

Our director Ema was nominated this year for the Merseyside Woman of the Year O2 Community Impact Award.

The whole Neo team was out in force at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Liverpool to show their support at the event hosted by Pauline Daniels.

There were lots of fantastic nominees across many different categories with everyone deserving of the award they were nominated for.

Ema was nominated for the comminity impact award for her involvement in the Feeding Birkenhead project as well as her work on intercepting supermarket produce headed for landfill. After a nervous wait whilst all the other categories were announced, Ema was the winner!!!

Neo would like to say how proud we are of Ema and all she has achieved.

We are so excited to have collected our new van Food Revolution Education Distribution in memory of Fred McCormick who devoted his life to socialism and community change.

This van will allow us to pick up so much food and increase the number of projects and people we are able to help and support daily

We have been able to purchase this van with help from the following:

Home Woodside, Universal Signs Ltd Wirral Labour Group, Birkenhead Van Hire, Birkenhead Lions Club, Tranmere Rovers Trust and Beaconsfield Residents.
